Raymond Burns
Vice President, Software Engineering

As a member of the Recovery Methods management team, Ray oversees all product architecture, design, and development activities for Ignition.

Ray comes to Recovery Methods with over 20 years of software engineering and development experience. 

Prior to joining Recovery Methods he was the President of InSight Graphics Software, a software consultancy and independent software vendor (ISV). 

At InSight Graphics Software, he split his time as an Architect and Developer of n-tier products and technologies for E-commerce and ASP applications and as an Architect and Developer of networking products and technologies: gateways, firewalls, secure networks, remote configuration management software, and intelligent mobile agents. 

Some of Mr. Burns’ former clients include: Digital Equipment Corporation, Elron Software, FTP Software, Interleaf, On Technology, OrderTrust, Mitsubishi, and PictureTel. 

Prior to InSight Graphics Software, Ray worked at Raytheon Submarine Signal Division and Wang Labs. While at Raytheon he served as a Team Leader in the development of a sonar-based absolute-positioning navigation system used in nuclear submarines. At Wang Labs he was a primary Architect of Freestyle, a pen-based multi-media user interface and communications system, for which he received a patent. 

Mr. Burns holds a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he also completed the majority of the requirements for an M.S. in Computer Science.
